Square Rings
Place a square tile on the middle of a table. Now choose a different color tile, and make a ring around the first tile. You should need 8 tiles for the second ring. Make 3 more rings, choosing a different color tile each time you move out from the center.
- How many tiles are in each ring you’ve made?
- How many tiles would there be in each of the next three rings?
- Challenge: How many tiles would there be in the 100th ring?
